What is an invisible zebra crossing?

Firstly, it is important to remember what a zebra crossing is. In the United Kingdom, Zebra crossings are clearly marked with Belisha beacons (Link to Belisha Beacon definition) and black and white stripes painted on the road. At these crossings pedestrians and other road users using the crossing to cross the road have priority over the wheeled traffic on the road.
